Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver Hosts Education Day for Youth Development

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver announces its annual Education Day, a dynamic event fostering academic engagement and friendly competition among Club members.

Denver, CO – May 3, 2024 - On Saturday, May 4, all 25 Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver will come together at J. Churchill Owen Boys & Girls Club for a day filled with interactive activities designed to enhance learning and stimulate interest in various school subjects. Club members, divided into teams based on grade levels, will compete in activities focused on reading, geography, science, math, and more.

This annual academic event encourages friendly competition among Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver's Club kids and teens while reinforcing and enhancing academic skills. Aligned with the organization's Academic Success programs, Education Day offers engaging STEM programming components that complement what our Club youth learn during the school day. The event encourages academic progress and fosters a love for learning among participants through hands-on activities and interactive experiences.

Throughout the morning, teams will earn tickets by completing short activities. These tickets can be exchanged for cards, offering competitive advantages at afternoon events. Activities will run simultaneously, allowing Club members to choose their preferred order and pace. During the lunch break, teams strategize and plan their approach for the afternoon competitions.

Regina Martinez-Gonzalez, Academics and Leadership Manager shares her enthusiasm for Education Day, saying, "The kids love participating in Education Day. It's where they show off just how much they have learned and how smart they are. It's amazing to see how the teams collaborate and strategize to see how their team can make the biggest impact."

Trophies will be awarded to winners across different age groups, including one overall Club winner, as a testament to their achievements.
