The Denver Broncos Football Club is one of Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver’s most loyal, committed and impactful partners. And when our Clubs were closed to due to COVID-19, the Broncos brought a silver lining to the empty Broncos Boys & Girls Club. Denver Broncos Charities acted quickly to complete a renovation and bring a fresh new look to the Club.
On Monday, June 1, the Broncos Boys & Girls Club re-opened its doors for the first time since March 2020. Club members arrived to a grand entrance with Miles, the Broncos’ mascot, who welcomed them from the top of his van. A speaker boomed with music for a dance-off with Broncos cheerleaders. Club members were smiling from ear to ear, safely behind masks, running down the orange carpet runway excited to see the Club and be re-united with the Broncos Club staff. We invite you to watch this joyful video of the reopening festivities!

“This is just an amazing piece of work by the Broncos. Now we have a world-class facility for our world-class children in this neighborhood,” said Club Director Rich Barrows.
We could not be more thankful for the passionate commitment from the entire Broncos organization. Our partnership began over 33 years ago and deepened in 2003 under the late Pat Bowlen’s leadership when the Broncos made a multi-year funding commitment to establish the Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club.
The reopening event was attended by Brittany Bowlen, daughter of Pat Bowlen and Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for the Broncos. Brittany is also a current board member at BGCMD. She shared, “This is part of his heart and soul. He cared about this community so much, and he wanted to give back to youth. You see that through a number of different things that Broncos Charities has supported over the years. But I think this one meant the most to him.”
The Broncos’ financial investment and volunteer engagement at our Clubs provide powerful incentives for our young people to keep coming back, work harder and believe that they can do whatever they put their minds to.
“We really see this facility and this building as our third home,” said Allie Engelken, Executive Director of Community Development for the Broncos.
