Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver redesigns creative arts space, inspiring Club kids and teens of Denver through modern media.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver shared today they received a $25,000 grant from Michaels to refresh the art room at the Arthur E. Johnson Boys & Girls Club. The upgrades, which began in early summer, are inspiring young artists and exposing them to modern artistic outlets. The grant is part of the national partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Michaels that provides select Clubs with a grant and support from Michaels to renovate select art spaces, share educational tools and resources, and foster team member engagement opportunities.
“Boys & Girls Clubs is so honored to receive this award. Our young artists are wildly creative, and with the significant upgrades afforded by this grant, they have access to equipment and programming that rises to the level of their imaginations,” said Steve Kinney, Club Director.
The Michaels MAKE Space refresh was completed this month and will culminate in a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 26. To learn more about the Michaels and Boys & Girls Clubs of America partnership, visit https://www.bgca.org/about-us/our-partners/michaels
