Every day, twelve year-old Club member Kari turns to her Club for the stability and consistency that she needs to make her future brighter. Kari started coming to the Boys & Girls Club in her neighborhood three years ago thanks to a recommendation from a family friend. During that time, she has taken advantage of everything the programs have to offer – from arts to tutoring, to playing on her first basketball team.
Kari has come to appreciate the smiling faces, acceptance, and positivity that resounds at the Boys & Girls Club. With the same resilience, tenacity and hope that characterize so many of our youth, Kari continues to strive to be the best person she can be in spite of the barriers in her path. Kari works hard to achieve good grades and helps other Club members with their homework. The Club has taught Kari that her life has no limits and that she has everything it takes to be successful if she gives it her all.
“Because of the Boys & Girls Club, I always know how to look on the bright side of life. Every day is a happy day when I’m here at the Club,” said Kari.
