Churchill Owen Boys & Girls Club helped her embrace her true self, teaching her resilience and guiding her toward a positive path.

Sports became a transformative outlet, helping Shaila develop leadership, perseverance, and confidence. One of her proudest moments came when she led her team to a championship victory, earning a permanent banner at her home Club.

Her journey at the Club shaped Shaila’s goals and helped her discover her own potential. As she prepares to graduate from KIPP Denver Collegiate High School, Shaila has her sights set on studying criminology at Texas Christian University. Shaila's ambition continues to drive her to break barriers.

Rachel | Age 14
Junior Denver City Youth of the Year Winner

Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club

Rachel found a supportive community at Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club for the past eight years. Through this experience, Rachel discovered her passion for sharing her love of dance with others and helping them find their own creative outlets.

Rachel's journey hasn't been without challenges. Navigating stereotypes and self-doubt, she leaned on mentors like Ms. Ford and Dr. Conley, who helped her see her potential and develop strong leadership skills. The Club offered opportunities for growth, guidance, friendship, and the courage to pursue her dreams. As Rachel prepares for the future, she carries the lessons learned at the Club—patience, self-confidence, and the power of perspective—into every opportunity ahead.
