Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver Provided Critical Summer Services to Thousands of Kids and Teens

Denver, CO (August 16, 2023) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver successfully concluded their annual summer program, having positively impacted the lives of nearly 3,800 Club members over the course of eight weeks.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver continues to play an important role in providing fun and enriching opportunities for youth throughout Denver communities during the summer break. We know access to safe and enriching environments is of utmost importance. For students whose families are living on low incomes, summer break can result in a significant loss of academic and social skills. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver strives to ensure all Club members have access to the resources they need to stay focused on their educational goals alongside programs that let Club kids be kids – like summer sports leagues, field trips, and outdoor adventures. Summer programming is accessible and affordable for families, ensuring financial limitations don't hinder youth participation.

This summer, Club members enjoyed an enriching summer experience involving a diverse array of activities, including horseback riding, rock climbing, river rafting, fishing, summer sports clinics and leagues, and more. Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver CEO, Erin Porteous, expressed enthusiasm about summer programming, stating, “Summer is a season of endless possibilities. With longer days come additional opportunities for our Club kids to experience something new, build strong relationships with peers and staff, and learn lifelong skills. From exciting outdoor adventures to engaging academic enrichment, our dedicated staff, have created summer programs that are nothing short of extraordinary.”

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver take pride in their role as a trusted youth development organization within the Denver community, ensuring that kids and teens always have a safe environment to turn to during school breaks. Looking forward, the organization is gearing up to continue its support during the upcoming school year, offering safe, affordable, and fun after school care at 25 Clubs across the Denver Metro area.
